Marktgemeinde westlich von Bregenz, Vorarlberg, Österreich, an der Mündung des Rheins in den Bodensee, 398 m über dem Meeresspiegel, 11 500 Einwohner; Textil- und Kunststoffindustrie, Kranbau, Metallverarbeitung, Käseherstellung.
 
 
Von der Mittelweiherburg (erbaut 1560), in der 1794 die erste Stoffdruckerei (mit Formenstecherei) in Vorarlberg errichtet wurde (stillgelegt 1880), ist nur der Rundturm erhalten (restauriert 1956-62; heute Gewerbemuseum).
